Agnes van Reijen (1948), painter, studied at the Academie voor Beeldende kunsten in Arnhem. Human behavior is central to her work. She looks upon the human condition with a mild irony. In her paintings and woodcuts , universally recognizable emotions come to the for. Part of her oeuvre consists of animal portraits that express the same human emotions. Van Reijen has participated in many expositions at home and abroad. She lives and works in the village of Glimmen, The Netherlands.
