CorneilleCorneille (Liege, Belgium 1922 – Auvers sur Oise, France, 2010) is known foremost as a COBRA artist. His real name was Guillaume Cornelis Beverlo and he was born from Dutch parents. Als 17-jarige verhuist hij naar Haarlem. He enroled in the Art Academy of Amsterdam between 1940 and 1942 and met Karel Appel there. In the late forties he moves to Paris and quickly joins COBRA. He was buried in the same graveyard as Vincent van Gogh after a life of many highs and lows.
