Bram van Velde
Bram (Abraham Gerardus) van Velde (1895–1981) was a well known Dutch painter and illustrator who lived in Germany and France. Van Velde’s palet is notedly bright and intense and is characterized by a language that fluctuates between the abstract and the figurative that leans towards abstract expressionism. His works have been induced into the collections of such institutes as Musee d’Orsay, Tate Gallery and the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum.
