Bruno Yvonnet (1957) is a well known French artist who lives and works in Lyon where he also teaches. He has exhibited internationally, amongst many others at KunstRAI Amsterdam and his work has lead to numerous publications. Yvonnet mostly uses figurative elements in his work as an alibi to explore abstract qualities in his compositions. Stark contrasts lend a dramatic appearance to his work. His subjects are often based in cliché’s or stereotypes: iconic, heraldic or historic symbols.
