Helma Kotoun
Helma kotoun grew up on the Dutch coast as the daughter of a fisherman. She owned a Jazz-café for a while before giving in to the urge to become an artist. In order to achieve this new goal, she was trained by artists such as Kees van de Wetering and Mart Bechtold. Her work is by and large an expression of the joy she experiences in nature. At first she worked from her studio’s on the Dutch and Flemish coast. Nowadays she spends most of the year in Spain and Italy where she paints large colorful expressionistic canvasses with subjects ranging from cows, horses and people to the landscape.
