Nico Molenkamp

Nico MolenkampNicolaas Ferdinand (Nico) Molenkamp (Enschede 1920 – Tilburg 1998) was employed early on as a designer in the textiles industry and was educated simultaniously at a precursor to the Tilburg Academy of Fine Arts (1945-1948). From 1949 to 1953 he enrolled in the National Institute for Fine Arts in Antwerp to train as a professional painter. In fifties he travelled to Paris, Italy and Bagdad. In the eighties he complimented his travel curriculum with extensive travel in Africa.

Work by Molenkamp can be found in the collections of Centraal Museum Utrecht, Museum Van Bommel Van Dam to name but a few. He is also the subject of numerous publications. Nico Molenkamp has been awarded prestigious prizes.
